Dell Dimension XPS Gen 4

I ordered my first dell computer around December 2005. I was really excited when I got it and played with it for weeks. I was so confident that I didn’t even bother buying the extended warranty until I started to notice problems with my computer. I paid close to $2400 for my computer and I was expecting everything to work fine, but I have a long list of problems. So here goes:

1. I ordered a Dell 2005FPW with my computer and realized I had a backlighting issue, especially when I am trying to watch a movie with dark scenes or just use my computer in dark. It was really annoying to see that especially when i paid soo much for a computer. I called Dell and asked them to send me a new one and they did. I found same problem and returned it again. The third time i just say what the heck, i am just gonna stick with it. I still have that problem but this time i got few dead pixels. I just got sick of calling but this was a very common problem with this type of monitors and I am sure Dell has fixed the problem.
2. I ordered a wireless package for my keyboard and mouse. My keyboard was working fine but for some reason my mouse was dying in 2-3 weeks and I was told that it should be able to last a month. So i ended up returning my package 2 times and now everything is fine.
3. My DVD-drive out of nowhere started to make weird noises and dell did send a technician to fix the problem but it took forver. I am just happy its fixed now.

Overall, I am probably not going to buy another dell. Maybe one of those cheap ones but not going to fork over another $2500 just for a PC. I recommend using HP or alienware.
