Useful tool if you are using torrent and P2P networks

Blogged in Internet Monday October 22, 2007 at about 11:51 am

I was aware of this tool for a long time but decided to give it another try because if I remember correctly this program used to cause a lot of load on slow computers due to the high IP range it was blocking. Well the program I am talking about is PeerGuardian. The program has a list of IP’s that belong to gov, edu, riaa, mpaa, movie companies, music companies etc and blocks them. It does have a nice feature where it will allow blocked IP to be accessed on port 80 (website) even if you have that IP blocked in PeerGuardian. So, pretty useful tool to just have it running in your tray and simply block all those spying eyes on other ports but allow them on port 80 since that port is only used for http based traffic.
