Youtube video pauses automatically if you open another browser

by Administrator on September 12, 2007

Maybe I am late at this but I was trying to watch some O’reilly video on YouTube and when I try to open another browser or check email, the video pauses automatically and starts again when I go back to YouTube page. Is this some kind of advertisement tweak from Google and this way if they do place ads on those videos, users will be forced to watch the ads. Thus guaranteeing the advertisers that their video ads are being watched by the User.

We know with tv commercials in the middle of the show most of us get up and go use the restroom, get water or just run around the house. With YouTube, you can’t just let the video run in the background and listen to people talk now. Google wants you to watch the whole damn thing now. GOOOOO Google. There goes my multitasking and at the same time listening to some interesting political conversations on YouTube.

UPDATE - It seems google was testing that feature and now video plays even when you are not watching the video on youtube.
