Best Buy has finally decided to pull all analog televisions from their shelf and in place put flat panel and High definition screens. The change is due to this move by broadcasters where they plan to stop transmitting analog signals. This change will take place in February 2009 and Best Buy is hoping to initiate the process of conversion from analog to digital. Digital TV is already being used in Europe and Asian countries like Japan and 60 million US households will get a chance to experience digital quality starting 2009. People with analog TV sets don’t have to panic and start saving money for an expensive new set because they can still get programming using a convertor box, set-top box or direct satellite. Also, the government has plans to provide coupons that will allow consumers with analog TV to buy a convertor box and best buy is expected to sell these convertor boxes starting next year.
