Urban-Styled Wind Turbines

by Administrator on December 5, 2008

Quietrevolution (QR) has created new generation of urban-styled wind turbines that are quieter, look cooler and work better.   They recently completed the biggest installation so far of eight turbines at the Fairview Homes Development in Croydon, London.  The product is called qr5 and it generates around 6,000-10,000 KWh per year.  That kind of power is enough for a office that serves around 15-20 people.  The design is the turbine helps proper functioning during turbulent winds, eliminate any noise and vibration.  Personally, I think its a thing of beauty and hopefully this will get more attention of people who were turned off with those huge windmill farms that generated tons of noise.
